Labor Day Weekend is around the corner, which means two things. First, you get a 3-day weekend to explore the city you love. Second, summer is quickly coming to a close, which makes this a bittersweet holiday. As the acting final hurrah of the summer season, it’s important to spend your last weekend having the most fun and doing the most adventurous things you can think of, but coming up with that list is usually harder than it sounds. We took the liberty of throwing together a list of the best ways to celebrate your LDW in NYC this year.

Electric Zoo Festival

Electric Zoo Festival, better known as EZoo, is making its way back to NYC, and people are pumped up. If you’re looking for the biggest and most electrifying party in New York this Labor Day weekend, EZoo is for you. With headliners like Marshmello, Martin Garrix, Tiësto, and other gigantic names in the EDM universe, EZoo offers the best atmosphere that fans can ask for year after year. Celebrating its 10th year, this Randall’s Island festival doesn’t only offer music. There’s also a variety of different foods, vegetarian options, beer, wine, and champagne to kick the party up a notch. Once the music stops, venture into the urban jungle and keep your night of adventure going.

The U.S. Open

One of the biggest tournaments in Tennis will be in full swing this Labor Day Weekend, and the only place to see the best tennis players live is in New York City. More specifically, head over to Arthur Ashe Stadium in Flushing to see some of the biggest names in tennis like the Williams sisters, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic. This Grand Slam tournament will be celebrating its 50th anniversary, so there’s no better year to check out this illustrious event than 2018. Don’t want to head over to Flushing? Come to Bounce and check out the live televised action while enjoying one of our handcrafted cocktails.

West Indian Carnival

Labor Day means something different in Brooklyn, where the streets transform into a massive Carnival, complete with dancers, music, flashy attire, and food. The parade, which has been a lasting tradition since 1947, the West Indian Carnival is the one time every year where people from all different cultures, backgrounds, and beliefs come together to celebrate West Indian culture. People hailing from Trinidad and Tobago, Haiti, Jamaica, Barbados, and many more island countries come from all over to sing, dance, and celebrate what makes them unique. Come explore what the Great American Melting Pot that is NYC has to offer!

Broadway Week

Looking to beat the heat and head inside? Labor Day kicks off the annual Broadway Week, where you can see some of the best shows New York has to offer without breaking the bank. Offering a two-for-one special on select plays and a $20 upgrade for better seats, this could be the perfect opportunity to finally see that play you’ve always talked about. With hit shows such as Aladdin, Frozen, Kinky Boots, The Lion King, and more, Broadway may be the best way to spend your Labor Day. Grab your date, grab a drink, and enjoy a Broadway play.

Explore New York City

The city that never sleeps is also the city that never stops moving, so it can be easy to get caught up in all of the hustle and bustle. Labor Day Weekend gives you that extra day off to immerse yourself in the city you love and maybe even get some of the sights off of your bucket list. Catch the ferry to Ellis Island or the Statue of Liberty, get lost in the hallways of the MOMA, picnic in Central Park, or climb to the top of the Empire State Building. Whatever your fancy is, New York is filled with sights, sounds, and surprises that even the most seasoned New Yorker has yet to explore!
